Youth Rugby Development Sydney | Speed & Contact Readiness

League and Union. Led by Dan — a Level 2 S&C coach working across elite GPS rugby at Riverview, one of Sydney's premier rugby schools — supported by Jay, a physiotherapist currently working with the South Sydney Rabbitohs. Built for the collision, contest, and conditioning demands of rugby at any level.

THE PROGRAM

BUILT FOR THE DEMANDS OF RUGBY

Rugby is a collision sport. It demands strength, conditioning, contact tolerance, and resilience that generic youth training programs don't build. Whether your young athlete plays league or union, forwards or backs, our program is designed around what the game actually requires.

01

Strength & Contact Readiness

Rugby players must be strong enough to contest, tackle, and absorb contact — but young athletes need age-appropriate strength programming that builds capacity without overload. Progressive loading that prepares the body for the collisions of the game.

02

Sprint Speed & Repeat Efforts

Modern rugby is a sport of high sprint counts and repeated high-intensity efforts. We build the aerobic base and anaerobic capacity to cover the required ground — and with sprint coaching available from a three-time Olympic coach, the genuine speed to be effective when you get there.

03

Neck, Shoulder & Spine Conditioning

The structures most at risk in rugby — the cervical spine, shoulders, and trunk — need specific strengthening that generic programs ignore. Neck strength, shoulder stability, and core capacity built around the contact demands of the game.

04

Position-Specific Development

A front rower, a halfback, and a winger have different physical demands. Programs reflect the position your young athlete plays — not generic "rugby S&C" that treats every player the same.

HOW IT WORKS

ASSESSMENT. PROGRAM. PROGRESS.

Every young rugby player starts with a comprehensive assessment. From there we build a program specific to their position, playing level, and development stage.

01

Physical Profile Assessment

Strength testing, sprint profiling, change of direction assessment, and position-specific movement screening. We baseline where your young athlete is before we build anything.

02

Rugby-Specific Programming

Periodised around the rugby season — pre-season loading, in-season maintenance, and recovery protocols during heavy training weeks. Tailored to position and training age.

03

Re-Testing & Season Monitoring

Regular re-assessment across the season. Objective data shows what's improving and what needs work. Programs progress with the data — not with a one-size-fits-all template.
