Youth Cricket Development Sydney | Bowling Load & Batting Power

Led by Sydney CC Premier Cricket players and the Head of S&C at one of Sydney's most successful cricket clubs. The only youth cricket S&C program in the Inner West built around what Premier and Shires cricket actually demand.

Cricket Training Built for Bowling Load & Batting Power

Cricket is a sport of long days, repeated high-intensity efforts, asymmetrical loading, and skills under pressure. Young cricketers need more than general gym work — they need specific conditioning for their discipline, whether that's fast bowling, spin, or batting at the top of the order.

01
Fast Bowling Physical Preparation

Fast bowlers carry the highest injury burden in cricket. Lumbar stress fractures, side strains, hip flexor tears — all linked to inadequate physical preparation for the loads the action produces. Specific conditioning for bowlers built from what Sydney CC does at the highest club level.

02
Rotational Power & Batting Strength

Batting at pace requires specific rotational power, bat speed, and the ability to generate force through the ground into the ball. Programming targets the physical qualities that actually translate to scoring runs — not just general strength.

03
Running Between Wickets & Repeated Efforts

Cricket is a sport of repeated sprints with incomplete recovery. Conditioning programs built around the actual demands of batting partnerships, chasing in the field, and backing up across a full day's play.

04
Workload Management for Junior Players

Young cricketers routinely overload during summer — school cricket, club cricket, rep cricket, holiday tournaments. We build workload management principles into every program so your young athlete finishes the season fitter, not broken.

Assessment. Program. Progress.

Every young cricketer starts with a comprehensive assessment. We then build a program specific to their discipline (bowling, batting, all-rounder) and their development stage.

01
Physical Profile Assessment
Movement screening, strength profiling, single-leg stability, rotational power, and discipline-specific assessment — different tests for bowlers, batters, and all-rounders. We establish baselines before we build any program.
02
Cricket-Specific Programming
Periodised around the cricket season — pre-season loading, in-season maintenance, and taper protocols for key tournaments. The program reflects the actual physical demands of their role in the team.
03
Re-Testing & Season Monitoring
Regular re-assessment throughout the season with objective data tracking. Workload monitoring through high-volume periods. Progressive program adjustments based on how their body is responding.
