Youth Volleyball Development Sydney | Vertical Power & ACL Prevention

Led by a current Australian National Team member. The only youth volleyball development program in Sydney coached by an active Volleyroo — combining AIS-grade training principles with sport-specific demands of the modern game.

Built for the demands of volleyball.

Volleyball is a sport of vertical power, shoulder resilience, repeated explosive efforts, and spatial decision-making under pressure. Generic S&C doesn't prepare young volleyballers for what the game actually requires. Our program is built around the physical qualities that separate good junior players from great ones.

01
Vertical Power & Jump Training

Approach jump, block jump, and repeated vertical efforts are the defining physical demand of volleyball. Progressive plyometric programming, strength development, and jump-specific force-velocity testing — not generic "box jumps for athletes" programming.

02
Shoulder Resilience & Arm Care

The single biggest injury burden in volleyball sits at the shoulder. Rotator cuff, scapular control, and overhead mobility work built specifically around the attack motion. Durable shoulders mean more sessions on court, fewer weeks on the sidelines.

03
Landing Mechanics & ACL Prevention

Female and male volleyballers both carry elevated ACL risk from repetitive jump-landing cycles. Specific landing mechanics training, single-leg stability, and neuromuscular control work — the evidence-based foundation of ACL injury prevention in jumping sports.

04
Movement Efficiency & Court Agility

Short reactive movements, change of direction under pressure, and the ability to repeat them across a long match. Agility programming that reflects the actual movement patterns of volleyball — not cone drills designed for field sports.

Most youth volleyball programs are run by general S&C coaches who've read about the sport. This one is run by someone currently representing Australia in it.

SETH CHEN
Physiotherapist · S&C · Current Volleyroo

Seth is one of a very small number of practitioners in Sydney combining elite international playing experience with a clinical physiotherapy background. Currently representing Australia on the national volleyball team, he brings first-hand knowledge of what elite volleyball requires — and how to build those qualities in developing athletes.

He has worked across multiple elite environments — the NBA Academy, Brumbies ACT Rugby, Manly United FC — and currently sits inside the AIS scholarship program. His coaching work at Sydney Grammar bridges the gap between elite performance and youth development, which is exactly what the Triduro volleyball program is built on.

Assessment. Program. Progress.

Every young athlete starts with a comprehensive assessment. From there we build a program specific to their physical profile, their volleyball demands, and their development stage.

01
Physical Profile Assessment
Jump testing (counter-movement, approach, reactive), movement screening, shoulder mobility and strength profiling, and single-leg stability work. We identify exactly where your young athlete sits physically — strengths, weaknesses, and development priorities.
02
Sport-Specific Programming
A structured program built around their assessment results, their training and competition calendar, and volleyball-specific physical demands. Reviewed and progressed regularly as they develop.
03
Re-Testing & Progression
Re-assessment at structured intervals to measure development and adjust programming. Objective data — not guesswork — guides every program progression. You see the numbers change. They feel the changes on court.
